The Cripps Court project includes comprehensive refurbishment works over four floors with a roof top extension to create 145 self-contained student rooms, doubling as hotel facilities for visiting delegates.
The refurbishment of the 1960’s concrete framed building posed a number of distinct challenges - in particular improving the thermal performance of the fabric to comply with modern Building
Regulations, enhancing acoustic standards, repairing the flint faced pre-cast panels, the installation of sectional shower / WC pods, the complete renewal of all mechanical, electrical and public health services.
The intricateness of the project were compounded by the fact that the refurbishment and new build works were completed in three phases, with various elements of the building in constant occupation.
